Often the only time we visit them is when we have demanded too much from them and they have successfully protected us from a fire. It is due to these officers of the watch that the household fire is most often avoided.  But just because you have a circuit breaker does not mean all is safe.  Often improper installation, neglect or failure to inspect them regularly leaves them prone to corrosion and rusting which leads to failure to protect your home and family. Regular Resets?

With electrical demands ever increasing in homes, your circuit breaker may begin requiring resets.  This is their subtle cry for attention.  As a conscientious homeowner you need to be aware that regular trips to the breaker is a sign of trouble.  Your breakers may be over stressed and requiring replacement or may be burdened so heavily and continuously that the wires are at or above maximum capacity.  This means that with every trip of the breaker you are risking a fire.  Be aware these circuit panels should normally NOT require your intervention and though they protect you from fires, constant or repeated resets mean you are in danger.  Rather than risk a fire, if you make regular visits to your breaker box, leave the breaker off and call Fielack Electric.  Remove the risk of fire and let us inspect and repair your system to make sure you are safe and that your Circuit Breakers are performing reliably.

Fuse Boxes

Prior to the advent of circuit breakers, fuses were used to protect the wiring.  Please be aware, Fuse Panels are not allowed in new homes and should not be in yours.  Just because all appears to be well, fuse boxes are at least 30 years old (as they have not been legally installable in that time) and should be replaced.  They are potential fire hazards for numerous reasons.  Even banks and Insurace companies recognize the potential for disaster with these highly outdated pieces of equipment and will NOT write new policies or loans if they are in use.  If you are using a fuse panel, do not trust it and have a certified technician replace it as soon as possible. The lives of your family, yourself and your property are at risk.
